       Well, you´ve done it! School year is almost over, so you deserve to have a vacation. Our country is small, but there are tons of places to visit. Maybe you will go to the beach with your family or perhaps you are planning to visit the Highlands or the Amazon region. Wherever you go, you will surely have fun.

     Thanksgiving is a national holiday in the United States. It is meant to be a day in which people thank God for the blessings of the year. WHAT IS THE MORAL OF THE FABLE?

                    What do "The Hare and the Tortoise", ´"The Ant and the Grasshopper" and "The Lion and the Mouse" have in common? If you say that they are fables, you are right. And if you say that they are Aesop´s Fables, that´s even better.
   Aesop´s fables are very well known all over the world. They have been translated to all languages, so children from different countries are very familiar with them. Their morals have become part of life and it is usual to hear them when you are given an advice.
   Who was Aesop? It is said that he was a Greek slave who was freed because he was always telling his master these wonderful stories, but we are still not sure about this information. However, his stories have been written and published for a long time and we have had the opportunity to read them with you. Haven´t we?

PRESERVATION OR ECONOMIC SOLUTIONS?

 

     What a difficult decision for the government! 

  You have learned at school about Yasuni Rainforest and the importance of preserving this place that has one of the most vast bio-diversity in the world. Home of indigenous tribes such as the Huaorani or the Tagaeri and Taromenani that live in isolation, this place is also very rich in oil reserves that would help improve the economy of our country-Ecuador.

   The governement has finally said they will exploit 0.01% of the oil reserves promising not to damage the environment or the native groups in the area. This decision was made because there is a need of more hospitals, schools and basic services in our country.
     So now people are debating if this is a wise decision or not. If there are other ways to improve our economy or exploiting the Yasuni is the only one. Meanwhile, natives are not very happy about the situation because they had bad experiences in the past. "Civilization" for them, is not that "civilized".
