THE PERSON YOU ADMIRE THE MOST

Maya Angelou and her brother Bayley during a special event.
There are people who follow music bands, Hollywood artists, sportsmen, etc.  There is no doubt people are always going to look at someone who they consider a good influence or great role model.  This is what we saw in the story "Brother" written by Maya Angelou in which Bayley, her brother, meant everything to her.

Who is the person you admire the most and why?  Write a 75-word response describing that person and the reasons why you chose him/her.

Active citizenship

This is what we find along the river banks in our city and country.  Please post your comments/ideas/solutions.

Dear children,

It is up to us as active citizens to guard and contribute to the well being of our community. This space at the moment is going to be used as a window to explore our surrounding areas. We invite you to share your remarks on the pictures posted by our blog and positively comment them( if there is a real problem give a feasible solution to it or give your observations as to how it can be counteracted by neighbors and yourself; not just critisize it). They need to be tangibe activities that are being done or can be done by you or the community to help it be conserved properly.

Can't wait to see your ideas and comments!

In this blog we want to know your position and points of view, but you will need to support your opinions with facts and/or anecdotes to sustain your outlook on this topic.
We are all anxious to read your comments.

BEING ALTRUISTIC

Hi kids! It´s been quite a time without interacting with you. To be honest, we were missing you! So here we go with a topic you might find interesting. But before that we need to ask, do you know what the word altruistic means? Have you ever heard of an altruistic person?

According to dictionary.com, the definition of altruistic is: unselfishly concerned or devoted to the welfare of others (opposed to egoistic).

Keeping this definition in mind, we would like you to answer the question below:

If you could be invisible what would you do and why?

FRIENDSHIP, THE BEST GIFT OF AL

Hey kids! Today we will think about those special people in our lives,  BEST FRIENDS. Do you have many friends or just a few? How can you tell that they ARE your friends? What´s the difference between someone you know and you enjoy to talk to and a REAL FRIEND? I am sure you will take a while to think of the answers to these questions in order to identify who are those that you call BEST FRIENDS.

Your task today is to read the quote below and tell us what you think it refers to. What is it the message it is trying to give you? How do you interpret the quote? Do you agree with it?
